Eagle-I
This
British Asian dj Asuf Ishaq aka Eagle-I moved over from London to Amsterdam
six years ago. After experiencing the vibrant rocking London town’s
Asian music scene during Anokha and Swaraj years, he took up the art of mixing
and set on a mission to spread the Asian break beat culture in Amsterdam,
after four years of mixing sounds in bars and clubs and a residency at Nomads
bar/restaurant for a year, eventually he had to set up a decent platform
for South Asian urban music in Holland, the drive was too strong and he did
something about it, he began a monthly club night called Sutra Funk with
a friend on 18 January 2004 at Bitterzoet a cool club in Amsterdam, and got
on with the business of banging out Asian Break-Beat,
d’n’b and Desi music, the night was an instant success, it attracted
all kinds of music lovers from Asians, Dutch and expats. Eagle-I has always held
a strong
view, this music is for the masses, not only for South Asians.
Eagle-I
is increasingly busy with ideas for tracks and has produced 'Nagins Spell'
a break-beat track earlier this year (you can be hear it on the player on
the home page), he is always busy in the studio cutting up, mixing up and
composing beats and rhythms, later this year expect more tracks rolling out
from him, keep listening here!, you can eventually buy the singles either

Eagle-I’s collection of music is deep and wide ranging generes from Break-beat,
Drum & Bass, Electro, House, UK Garage, Hip-Hop, Bhangra, Bollywood, Desi.
He has spun at exclusive Asian parties and also more darker and deeper Asian
underground
gigs, the other end of the spectrum World beat parties, Latin, African and Middle
Eastern music. Eagle-I can be equally deeply moved by a Bollywood film songs
by
Mohammed
Rafi or a drum & bass track by dj Suv, musically
speaking he
has no limitations.

Eagle-I has been busy in the studio producing his debut single 'Nagin’s
Spell', a trip-hop/break-beat inspired track, When he
isn't spinning he is busy in the studio experimenting with Eastern beats,
loops and effects, he has completed a track called 'Nagin's Spell' a
break-beat/ hip-hop sort of sound. check it on the player.
